It sounds like this trauma has made you a stronger and wiser person. I love the idea that you are looking at your children and grandchildren in a new light. Even if they don't share your beliefs, I figure....it couldn't hurt.
I do hope you find comfort, peace, and clarity in the aftermath of your terrible experience.
