Lar,
I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. I know that you take l-tryptophan, trimipramine and Restoril for sleep. Why do you need all three? Why not just take an adequate amount of one of them? Doesn't the trimipramine leave you groggy the next day? I used to take doxepin and later on maprotiline and they both left me somewhat groggy. Maprotiline a lot less so. They both also gave me a huge appetite and I wasn't even taking that much. I really don't want to go back on it but I might have to in order to function better.
I tried 5-htp the last couple of nights (because I want to use up what I have here) and it was only partially successful. I think I need to take more but it really made me lethargic the next day. Would that probably go away if I took it every night?
I guess that Valerian is the next sleep experiment if I can get close enough to it to take it. I hear that there's a version of this that is smell-free. I wonder if that's any good.
To change the topic:
I got an interesting post from "raybakes" above that you might have read. One of the things he says is:"I wonder if the niacinamide and biopterin are helping phenylalanine hydroxylase so I can now metabolise l-phenylalanine?"
Why or how would niacinamide help phenylalanine hydroxylase?
Thanks,
KP.S. Hope your tuboring is healing your head.
