I was wondering if it would be dangerous in any way for me to use selegiline or Ritalin as a sleeping pill since they put me (with my hypersensitive DA autoreceptors) to sleep rather than stimulate me. I was wondering if using them in this way might ultimately make my DA problems worse or whether I could use them to help me sleep without any long-term repercussions.

Your hypothesis is that you have hypersensitive DA autoreceptors. You could look at the selegiline/DLPA experiment as a test of the null hypothesis.
