Hello hurt,
I'm not in very good shape myself lately, but I just wanted to offer my condolences. Fallsfall is right; it's rarely the actual person in these situations that we're having such disproportionate responses to. These guys are not good to us, yet we aren't ok unless they and only they love us. That says more about how we feel about ourselves than how they feel about us. Unfortunately knowing that does little to get you through those dark hours.
Recently I've had some contact with my ex and every time I talk to him I see how he can give me nothing. Zero. And yet it was agonizing to get out of that relationship and I still can't let go. I'm hoping this latest contact will reinforce my decision to leave and help me during those moments when I begin to think of him in an exalted way and demean myself in the process.
