I hope that things get better for you soon. And if that first dentist charges $1,000 for an "I don't know", it sort of reminds me of Mark Twain who was treated for a broken leg by a Faith Healing practitioner. He later got a bill for his still broken leg. He complained that they did nothing for his leg and was told "We healed you in spirit", to which he responded "Well, I paid you in spirit."
