I have a confession to make. I broke my vow last Friday and had 3 glasses of wine. Since that I've had somethng alcoholic every night. I'm trying to decide if I should stop again now, or wait until after Xmas. By the way - no holiday here in Canada last weekend. Our Thanksgiving is in Oct. - but we do have Christmas at the same time, although we celebrate it by emerging from our igloos and slaughtering caribou for the tribal feast.
Anyway, I gave in because I have been feeling consistently worse. Increasing anxiety. Not related to the lack of alcohol. Three months confirmed that. I think related more to AD poop out. I am trying zyprexa and so far it seems to be really doing something. The drinks each night, I know are not good, cause I will just continue to increase the amount. As to adding a benzo - it has its place. Klonopin seems to have a beneficial effect on anxiety without having to keep increasing the dosage. But you should do like with other meds, if your anxiety is chronic, and take the same amouont each day. If the anxiety is sort of transient, then the odd hit of a benzo would help. I am hoping that zyprexa will replace both benzos and alcohol for me.Greg
