It's possible that GABA will help with racing thoughts. I have found great benefit from GABA 750mg per day for depression and anxiety. I take it everyday, and I feel much better. As far as sleep, I think GABA can help somewhat, but I think you need in addition other supplements for better sleep, such as melatonin, calcium and magnesium, selenium and others. For some reason I find that 100mcg of selenium-yeast helps with better sleep, probably because it is an antioxidant. You might also try 400IU of natural vitamin E at bedtime as well. I think GABA is a great supplement depending on what you are taking it for. Dosage is also important. I never found great relief from 500mg, but 750mg works very well for me.
