Hi morgan,
Someone I know is suffering dysthymia/depression that turns into vicious PMDD the week before her period. She wants to try natural remedies before resorting to antidepresssants.
I am giving her some herbs to help with basic physical issues that lead to fatigue, but I want to suggest a full trial of St. John's Wort along with folic acid, magnesium, 5-htp or tryptophan, fish oil, and maybe rhodiola. I'd like her to take high dose niacin, but she didn't like the flush when we tried it before.
So how's St. John's wort working out for you? I'm thinking of getting one bottle each of Kira and Perika to start. The NOW brand is cheaper, and I love my NOW products, but I hear good things about Kira and Perika. I really appreciate your input.
Anyone else with personal experience with St. John's Wort, please share your story as well.
