You rightly pointed out that Dr. Bob's rejection of certain behaviors are often felt as personal rejections. But.. you can't block the behavior without actually rejecting the person for a period of time - even though they are welcomed back. He has the power to choose whom to 'love' regardless, but each Babbler has the choice of whether to "need" his 'love' in the first place (whether or not such a love exists).
When I read that post, though, the "would require me to give up my power to choose whom to love" - I wondered why he would choose that potent of a way to put it, when things were seeming to steady? I thought "well, that's likely to provoke some turmoil.."
