If the total number of mg morphine consumed per 24 hour period is the same, so ought to be the result. I can't vouch for the effects of MSContin, as I use OxyContin. It doesn't last the supposed 12 hour period, so my doctor prescribed it q 8 instead of q 12, i.e. 3 X daily instead of twice.
I really don't understand why you're concerned about the MSContin. If there's something in particular, maybe I can help?
