Hi Jai,

> This is the story. I was walking up to the top of a mountain to watch the bird migration. We were making good time. I took my eyes from the rocky, root infested, uneven path and when I opened my eyes I was looking at the mud real close.

Yowch. And on your way to see bird migration no less. That's the pits. Okay, so maybe it's not so smart of me to bury my nose in the trail maps and guides while hiking along those root and rock infested paths.

> Then I realized I had broken my glasses, torn my tights, ripped my upper lip and hurt my knee.
> I swore for quite a while. I can't repeat the words as I would be banished for weeks and weeks... All the swearing didn't do me a lick of good.

Yowch. Quite a nasty fall.

> What took 10 minutes of walking into the woods took one hour of hobbling out. People passed us and didn't even ask what had happened or if they could help. It was obvious that my upper lip was bleeding.
> That shocked me.

That shocks me too. Usually I think of hikers as being friendly to each other. I'm sorry you had that experience on top of your injuries.

> Of course I am wondering what is the lesson in this injury.

Maybe that it's good to keep one eye on the next step in front of you to keep you on track until you reach your goal. I mean in terms of achieving life goals. This is my attempt at being philosophical :).

I hope you heal up quickly! (((Jai)))
