(((Therapygirl)))
I'm so sorry about your friend. Hopefully she'll sort it out and feel able to be close with you soon.
It sounds as if she still really cares.
Regarding the dream. I'm no expert on dreams, but remember the time I had that really sexual dream about my therapist? I am firmly of the opinion that we can't control our feelings and to a large extent our thoughts, and we only need to hold ourselves responsible for our actions. But I was still a bit concerned that my subconscious was trying to tell me something that I hadn't consciously been aware of.
And it turned out that wasn't it at all!! I talked to a lot of people about the dream, and one time used the words that made it abundantly obvious that my brain was being as direct and obvious as it always was in dreams. It used sexual imagery because the most pithy words used to describe the situation were sexual in nature. But the dream was simply about his impotence at the time, and the fact that I was nurturing him more than the other way around.
Even if your mind is trying to tell you something, it's likely that it is trying to tell you something totally unrelated to the overt content of the dream.
