In reply to I want my pain to show, posted by Maxime on December 9, 2006, at 21:55:55
Maxime,
That post resonated with me. I've often wondered how all of this badness that was in me could be there, yet I looked completely normal on the outside.
Something didn't seem entirely quite right with that. It just doesn't seem quite fair. People with a broken leg get a cast, but people with a broken heart/mind seem to get nothing.
I wish we wouldn't view the desire for someone to take care of us as corny or as a weakness in character.
It is such a FUNDAMENTAL thing for humans, and yet so many of us missed it as a child.
It is no wonder we want to be taken care of. I mean don't you think we've earned the right to not only want it, but to have it?
Above all else though, the scars and pain may not show on the outside, but we have survived this war so far, and we will go on for the next day and the day after that.
Be safe
Maddie
