I'm so glad the manganese is beneficial for you. I've taken manganese for over a year now, and it really does help with my anxiety, including social anxiety. I think, perhaps, I do not take enough to have a huge impact. All I can stand is 10mg per day, but it has made a difference in anxiety levels. Glad you're doing well!!
Have you tried the amino acid glycine in small doses? I found that it did help with anxiety. The other two supplements I like for anxiety are B6 and kava kava. I've had success with all these. You know, I really don't know if manganese boosts gaba. I never read anything like that about manganese. I know that it plays a part in superoxide dismutase. It has antioxidant properties. I'm sure it plays a role in neurotransmission somehow as it is a cofactor in many enzyme reactions as is zinc as well. Again, if it works for you stick with it. That's great to hear. Manganese is actually very good for you in small doses.
