I woudn't recommend growing Papaver somniferum if you live in the states. The penalty for getting caught growing these for opium extraction purposes
are draconian. Would be less risky to go out and score an opiate with a dealer on the street ( also not recomended) Also if one does initialy use opium for therapeutic purposes, tolerance and habituation can creep up on you faster than you'd think.
In the past I used it a couple of times a week, over several years.It was a good fast acting antidepressant/ anti-manic.
By the way if you take opium tea together with an antihistamine, it makes for a more potent and pleasurable effect.Take care with this stuff.
