Well, there are actually two quasi-legal opiate tea preparations... one is poppy seed tea, the other is poppy pod tea.

To make poppy pod tea, you simply gather a few decently sized pods of Papaver somniferum (florists, arts & crafts stores are a good bet), deseed them if they aren't already, crush them, then place approximately three pods' worth of the material into about 8-12oz of near-boiling water. Allow this to brew for a few minutes, then just go ahead and strain. About 2-3 pods is a good starter dose... someone more opioid-tolerant may need as many as twenty large pods. You may want to mask the taste with something a bit spicy... licorice is good. So that's the process... of course the alkaloid content will vary from batch to batch, but will always contain morphine, codeine, thebaine, papaverine, and narcotine.

I've made the tea many times myself -- trust me, it's good, lol. As I'm sure you're well aware, though, it's something to be used *very* sparingly if just using it for recreational purposes, or as a sort of alcohol substitute.

Poppy seed tea is also possible, but requires several kilograms of seeds to produce one cup of tea... hardly worth the effort, IMO.

Let me know if you try it!

Cheers,
Michael
