My experience with 5HTP was similar to that of Prozac, Paxil and Effexor (high anxiety). I just assume I'm sensitive to serotonin. You could also take Tryptophan which the body has to turn into 5HTP before making serotonin.

If you need dopamine or norepinephrine you can take Tyrosine or DL-Phenylalanine. The body makes NE from Dopamine so if you have an amino defficiency increasing dopamine should increase both.
