I like Carlson's fish oil. It really doesn't taste fishy to me at all. If you want caps, I'd just use the cheap ones at Walmart or Sam's or Costco. Their turnover is so high that they're generally of good quality, and the price can't be beat.
I'd be targeting 5000 mg/day of fish oil, not 1000. More, if tolerated.
Take only with a meal. The biggest fattiest meal of the day, if possible. Your digestive system will more properly emulsify and take up the fish oil if there is a good fatty meal to trigger the process. Food reduces the chances of fish burps, which are not the greatest thing to have. Not good for people close to you, either. ;-)
