I wish you and your family well and hope that your family member recovers (remember, odds are just statistics ... they don't necessarily have any bearing on an individual's survival).

My personal recommendation is to go homeopathic. If you can, see a homeopath. If you can't do that then try Calms Forte (or just Calms, I think they are the same thing). They have helped me in the past. Also, cut out all caffeine. Caffeine can cause panic attacks even when there is nothing stressing you!
Most importantly, treat yourself well. If you are a spiritual person, spend some time in the hospital chapel, not necessarily praying if that is not your bent, but utilize it as a quite meditation place. That helped me a lot.
