In the past I've posted in Dr-Bob's about ADHD, but today I have a question about stress. A close family member is extremely ill in the hospital-- their chances of making it are maybe 30%. Understandably this is causing extreme stress to my family and myself. I'm just feeling the stress chemicals flood my body (epinephrine and cortisol both, I imagine- I feel simultaneously powerless and wanting to fight something).
What helps with high and ongoing levels of stress? I am able to sleep, but wake up in a flood of fear the instant I remember whats going on. I'm already taking multivitamins, fish oil, tyrosine (and extra vitamin B ? that goes with tyrosine) and lecithin. Any advise or pointers to good threads here are appreciated (I tried some searches but got too many results, and I'm not good at reading right now- stress seems to take away brain function).
