There's been an amazing amount of misinformation posted on this topic so far. I'm glad to see this thread finally addressing some of it. To be clear - only you can post something to your facebook account. Only you can post something to your twitter account. If you don't have an account you get a sign in screen (and an invitation to join). So you can choose to publicize your interest in babble to people who know you or choose not to.
Even if you do link to babble that does not tell people who you are on babble - or even that you are on babble. It just tells them you liked something you read here enough to want them to read it too. But, a good friend who comes here AND who now knows that you come here too is more likely to be able to figure out who you are. More likely than if they found this site on their own when they wouldn't have any idea you were here.
Personally, I would never choose to link to babble on my facebook or twitter accounts if I had any for just that reason. YMMV.
