I have a crummy old laptop that is no stranger to various fits and hang ups, many requiring reboot, but I too have noticed a disproportionate number of problems with this board. Often a link goes nowhere when clicked as you are mentioning. When that happens, I have noticed that sometimes if I minimize that window, a window containing the post I wanted to read will be *underneath* it. And not just when using IE, which tends to open things in new windows. So try looking under your current window.

Other times I have both IE and AOL/IE browsers open at the same time, and curiously every now and then the two will become linked so that trying to operate the board from the IE side will pull me back to the AOL side (which I may have escaped to IE from in the first place if the AOL side wasn't running Babble or anything else well at the time). Most of the time I can use and post from them completely separately.

In general when links don't work, you might also want to do an IE repair occasionally. This is an option you can find in at least some OSs (mine is Win 98 SE)at Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Highlight IE and click "Add/Remove." Don't be scared, it won't be removed at that point, but will next give you the option to have a a repair performed, which will also report any missing components that you need to find online and download (there are many sites specifically for that; to shut up your computer's error messages about a dll file missing or whatever). Other OSs and browsers may have a similar repair option.

But me? Nope, I don't have it all figured out and often just reboot or open IE rather than rebooting (to the extent that the other issue described above doesn't then kick in). But, while I blame most of my site operation issues on simply needing to face that I can't expect much from this particular beast anymore, it is true regardless that I have more issues at Babble than anywhere else....
