My browser (IE) also gets hung up sometimes, 'though only in the last few weeks. What I do is click on the *second* post in a thread if the first doesn't seem to want to open, and that usually opens. Then, I can go to the first post via the second -- if that makes any sense at all.
Right now, for me, on dial up, it is quicker than exiting Explorer and getting in again. Or...it could just be my PC.
