For what it's worth, I also want to thank Dr. Bob for his running of this site. While he's not perfect, and indeed who of us is, I think he does his best to try provide a framework to make the site supportive for as many as possible, and perhaps more importantly for each of the many.
I do think in this case he probably made a mistake. In my conversations with Sandra Dee at chat prior to this incident, I have come away with the impression that she was not a person who would intentionally show disrespect or incivility towards Lou, and not changing a subject line is a mistake that I for one have frequently made and afterwards have regretted.
But overall, I think Dr. Bob administers this site justly and fairly, without favoritism. And I really appreciate the wit and humor of his brief responses, and the frequent succinct kindness contained in them. And I don't for one moment think his research drives his actions. In fact, each time I return, it is usually due to my respect for Dr. Bob and the way he runs this site.
Dr. Bob, I think you're a pretty terrific administrator.
