Yes. I believe that was one of the studies I read. Apparently in Alzheimer's there is an abnormal accumulation of gaba in certain brain regions that impairs synaptic function / plasticity. MAO-B inhibitors have some ability to counteract this. MAO-B tends to increase with age as well. So, some degree of MAO-B inhibition may have anti-aging properties.

Certain forms of depression apparently respond to stimulants (at least as adjunctives). I have wondered if MAO-B might be overactive in such forms of depression, leading to a deficit of the endogenous phenylethylamine (PEA). There have been some studies on selegiline (in combination with PEA) for treatment resistant depression. A few studies have found PEA deficits in depression and/or ADHD.
