Hi, Lamdage.

* Other sources report a 10 fold increase in antibodies with a booster rather than a 37 fold increase.

> How can that be? Doesn't it mean that there is almost absolutely zero protection before the booster?

.

1. A Logical Possibility:

What if the protection of the booster is 37 times higher than what is necessary to protect one from getting COVID-19? In other words, is the booster needed at all?

2. Empirical Proof:

Statistically, people who were given a booster vaccination of the mRNA vaccines are much less likely to get COVID-19 than those who did not.

.

The effectiveness - the number of antibodies provoked by the vaccines - wanes over time. We have known that for well over a year. Not only that, but having survived COVID-19 does not yield permanent immunity. The number of antibodies of survivors wanes quickly as well. Many of these people who have not been vaccinated have contracted COVID-19 twice. A booster shot definitely provides a level of protection against Omicron that the first two vaccinations do not.

.

There are several considerations:

1. The BioNTech vaccine uses mRNA (like Moderna and Pfizer).

2. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine uses DNA (like J&J)

3. The Pfizer mRNA booster works very well. It has not been approved by the FDA yet.

4. J&J requires TWO initial vaccinations to produce immunity comparable to the two initial vaccinations using Pfizer or Moderna.

5. J&J has petitioned the FDA to approve their vaccine as a booster.

* There may be compelling evidence to use the J&J vaccine as a booster if you received it previously. However, I haven't looked into it. It is worth researching this before making a decision as to which one to choose as a booster.

Some see things as they are and ask why.
I dream of things that never were and ask why not.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
