Topamax and Lamictal? I'm stopping the Lamictal!!

My pdoc won't listen thus far, therefore I'm stopping the lamictal. I started at 300mg, now I'm down to 100mg and going down this evening to 75mg. Why is it so hard for him to see that it's doing nothing? He has me on two of the same medicines and I feel dumb as a box of nails.
