Yes, he takes it with Dilantin. Old treatment but the man is 65.
I see your intrest in how they differ, i used to be like that to and experiemented.
Generally barbiturates cause more impairment throught the day if given for anxiety. If taken for anxiety, when going to work, your abilities are slowed down, and feel slightly out of reality, i used to but my head down all the time when doing work, you dont feel like doing anything! they make you think about sleep alot more. Thats why there not good for day time anxiety.
But......... when you have nothing to do, they are great meds for peacefulness. On Saturadays, i used to take Amytal and lay back, and forget everything, even thought that really wasnt why it was prescribed, it was great. But times moved on.
Benzo's just make things more smooth, relaxed, just general calm. its easier to keep up with them. Less things bother you. But the only problem is i at times have moderate amniesia, with klonopin i cant really rerember events that happned in the day.
AND and never know when the hell its going to wear off, i feel slugish for a loooong time.
I've taken Ativan before, but i really didnt pay attention to how long it lasted. But it was effective
Hope to hear back
Matt
Anyways, i hope that gave you an idea of what
