I have a colonoscopy coming up and I just want to make sure these are safe and won't interfere with anything having to do with my cognitive functioning and/or recent improvements in mood. I also fear dehydration etc. Are these all things that are really nothing to worry about?

Just make sure you aren't dehydrated before you use the enema. It draws a fairly substantial amount of water into the gut. The increased volume stimulates peristalsis, and voila, you are ready for the scope.

There should be no cognitive or mood effects.
