I believe they do interact, but the enzyme inhibition is less with celexa than with prozac and paxil. Just out of curiosity, what exactly are you taking, and how much? And how has it worked for you? Thanks

It makes me very sleepy, and when I try to up the dose I get a headache. It seems to be working well at 10 mg, but I'm so sleepy, and I've been taking it for a month. I almost want to try 5 mg, but that's such a pain because it only comes in capsules. Has anyone ever come across tablets. Does 5 or 10 mg seem like a ridicuously low dose? I know about the enzyme inhibition, but it still seems really low. Does nortriptyline increase blood levels of celexa (as well as vice versa)? Perhaps I should reduce celexa before I go down on nortriptyline? Would love to hear about anyone's experiences.

The enzyme that metabolises Nortriptyline is 2D6 & this is the one that has that varies the most from person to person. It would be very worth while for you to get a plasma level taken to see how well you metabolise it.
