My husband was given this, I thought, because of his extreme moodiness - meanness, anger, and agitation although the doc (neurologist) said he was not psychotic. Started at 25 mgs - went up to 100 mgs at Hubby's request. It sure put him to sleep and he stopped jumping around so much in his sleep but was SOOOoo depressed and stoned.
Also, Serequel is KNOWN for causing diabetes. Can really mess up the ol' brain too. My hubby gained a lot of weight virtually overnight which he didn't need - weight gain caused more increase in blood pressure.
I would say "use with extreme caution." Of course, if it's the only thing that works then use it but there are better meds just for sleep problems.
> Yesterday, my pdoctor prescribed 100mg. of this drug to help me sleep. I've been taking 10mg. of Ambien every night for approx. 7 years and it has worked wonderfully until recently when I began to notice that I seem to have become tolerant of this drug.

> I took the Seroquel for the first time last night & HATED it! WOW, what a totally drugged feeling & icky hang over feeling this morning. Also, instead of actually going to sleep, I experienced a kind of "twighlight" sleep - never really falling asleep it felt.

> If anyone else has expereinced any of these feelings, I'd really like to hear from you on this board.

> Also, my pdoctor knows (I assume) that I'm diabetic. The warning on the package stresses that this drug may be harmful to people with diabetes.
