I totally agree with Emme, you may want to take less until you get used to it.

The first time I took Seroquel, it was 25mg and the next day I was not thrilled with the after effects. I convinced my pdoc to let me try something else, and he gave me Doxepin (a trycyclic). Doxepin had the effect on me of something like Benadryl, and I was happy for a while. I then began to be constantly hungry and since I'd lost 10lbs last year, I didn't want to go back to my old weight.

I then re-tried the Seroquel, but only taking 12.5mg (half tablet) for a few days and tolerated it quite well. I then moved up to 25mg/night and all was well. I have on occasion taken 50mg per night when I've had a hypomanic kind of day and I find that I'll start to get what feels like sinus headaches if I have to do that for more than a couple of nights in a row.

At 25mg, I find to be a comfortable amount - it helps me sleep well, and I'm experiencing no side effects with it.

Hope this helps.
