Are there any opinions on taking Ginko Biloba and Efexor XR 150mg together and whether there is any use?
Regards
Sabrina

What are you looking for them to do together? They're not contraindicated if that's what you're asking. If you get mostly a serotonergic response from the Effexor, then the Ginkgo could add some activation and some focus/concentration to the mix - not to mention it's benefits for circulation and as an antioxidant.Kara

Also, Effexor can raise blood pressure (though it's probably not a big problem at 150 mg.) and Ginkgo may help to lower it due to its action in dilating blood vessels.

Thanks Kara. At least I know they are not contraindicated. I am really trying to improve my concentration span. It has gone for a loop and even though Efexor has helped my depression and GAD, my concentration has not improved.

Sabrina,
I'm in the same boat. I am almost off of Effexor now. It helped some with depression but it did nothing for my terrible problem with concentration and my lack of motivation. I'm thinking of trying Ginkgo myself for a variety of reasons. Here's a link you might find helpful:It's from "The Natural Pharmacist". They lean on the conservative side in term of benefits. If there aren't 10 million double blind studies proving something, then they won't acknowledge any benefit. But they have a lot of good information including an "Interactions you should know about" section at the end.
If you do try it, let me know how it works out for you.
Regards,
Kara
