Hey JLynne,
I know that sometimes you take holidays from your lexapro. I am thinking of doing the same thing. Can you tell me why you have been doing that, what differences you have noticed on your days off and any withdrawl symptoms. I usually take mine 1st thing in the morning but today am just now taking half my dose at 4:00 I am hoping to just take the 10mg today and not full 20. I would like to begin either tapering off or going to a lesser dosage or even getting on something else that works during my period. Well Thanks so much!!
God Bless You!
Lexy

Lexy, I actually started the "vacations" by accident. I forgot to take my pill one morning (I take them 1st thing, too) and I went to work without them. I noticed that I had a lot more energy, and didn't feel that rotten ache/pressure in my head - in fact, I felt really great! So I went ahead and skipped it for the whole day. And the following week went better, too. By the next Saturday, I was ready to try it again, and I did - got lots of work done that day! I felt like I got a fresh start again the following week, too.

I saw my doc last Monday, and he told me it would be fine to continue doing that, but not to go more than two days without lex. (I tried going two days last weekend, but it was too much; I started feeling *really* dizzy by Sunday afternoon). The doctor said that some people take the two days because they get relief for the anorgasmia, which is not a concern for me because I am not in a relationship at this time.

I have been taking the "day off" because, by the end of the week the pressure in my head is unbelievable, and I have absolutely no energy left; I had been "sleeping away" my weekends. I am *really* looking forward to my "day off" tomorrow, because I am withdrawing from Lorazepam this week, also. (Doc wants me off because he thinks it is causing some of the s/e's, and I was taking it for insomnia, not anxiety.) Right now I can't tell what is from s/e's and what is from withdrawal. I will be glad when things level off again.

Oh, yeah - I tried going from 10mgs to 15mgs, but I *really* *really* felt dragged out after a couple weeks (maybe a month) so I went back to 10mgs and am doing a lot better. The reason I increased was because the depression got worse, and I was hurting and crying again. I haven't had any more episodes of the deep depression since I went back to 10mg, so I think I have stabilized in that area.

You are taking lex for anxiety, tho, aren't you?
I think you should tell your fella to just GIVE YOU THAT DANG RING, so that you can know for sure! (LOL)

(((Lexy))) (((good feelings)))

> I know you are now on Wellbutrin and having a much better time, I am thinking of switching, what was the difference for you? Did you ever feel irritated on lexapro... that seems to be a strange side effect for me, I get really irritated when the medication peaks, it last about an hour then I am better...tell me a little about the wellbutrin please dear!!!

Lexy,

When I was on Lexapro, I was very sleepy and foggy during the day, and I would even fall asleep sitting up (and once standing - that was wierd!). And I needed probably at least 10 hours of sleep at night. Given the option, I probably could have stayed in bed all day. When I switched to Wellbutrin, I was clear-minded and very alert during the day, but unfortunately also at night. I probably only got 4 hours of sleep total the first two nights. But insomnia was really the only side effect, and within a week I was getting 6-7 hours of sleep a night. That isn't enough for me, but it was a small price to pay to be a functioning human being again. Now, I am probably getting a full night's sleep half of the time. One thing I did lose when quitting the Lexapro is the hormonal instability. Wow! Like we don't have enough problems!

Wellbutrin certainly could be worth a try for you. However, if Lexapro makes you irritable, Wellbutrin may make you downright uncomfortable. But you never know... And something to keep in mind is that anything with caffeine seems to have greatly magnified effects on Wellbutrin.

I wish you the best!

Hello..Well it was a long night but Ryan Parker Morin is finally here...Melissa is doing great she was a real trouper but to see your daughter like that is not such a great experience dont know if it is just because we have an extremely strong bond between us but I made it through the whole thing and encouraged her and stayed up all night with her...It was pretty scary for a while her blood preasure would not come down and her labor was really rough....at the end Ryans heartbeats dropped drastically and we really had to work on getting him out when he did come his cord was wrapped around his neck twice so that was a bit scary as he was pretty purple by the time that ended...The end of the story is that she is doing great the baby is great and I'm exhausted...I would appreciate some extra prayers tonight as I'm not feeling very good at all..I seem to be crashing and although I know that it is totally understandable that is bringing no comfort to me...I'm very scared as I dont want to start from day one again with the anxiety..I will give myself a break and take a xanax after bringing melissa her stuff tonight and try to get a good nights sleep and wake up tomorrow with some extra strength...I hope that everyone is well and you are all doing great it is a great weekend..Thank you everyone..luvya all lots...Mystic

Yeah!!!

> I would appreciate some extra prayers tonight as I'm not feeling very good at all..

You got it friend!

> I'm very scared as I dont want to start from day one again with the anxiety..

Please believe that you won't be starting from day one. I know it is scary, but hang tough and be good to yourself for a couple of days, and you will be fine.

> I will give myself a break and take a xanax after bringing melissa her stuff tonight and try to get a good nights sleep and wake up tomorrow with some extra strength...

Times like this is what we have Xanax for. Get lots of rest, eat well, and you will bounce right back. The worst of the stress and worry is behind you now, so just coast for a while...

Ready? Ahem (clearing throat)... la la la...Goodnight Mystic...sweet dreams...sha doo wop...you made it through...sha na na...daughter is doing fine...sweet tiny baby boy to spoil soon...la la la...

Mystic, I am so glad to hear that Mel and Ryan Parker are ok. You are right, it is hard to see your daughter like that and hooked up to those machines and watching the indicators beep and flash and and go up and down.

But it is over now, sweetie, and they are both fine. Now you get to be a mother to Mel, and comfort her and nurture her, and help her get through her recovery. She knows now what it is like to give birth, and there will be a special bond between you now that wasn't there before. And you get to hold little Ryan and smell his newborn smell and just fall in love with him.

Try not to replay the day in your mind, sweetie; rent a movie or go out to dinner, and just take that Xanax and get some rest and be good to yourself. You have a beautiful little grandson, and he is going to fall in love with you, too, and one day soon he is going to call you "g'ama" and your heart is going to just melt.

I am in my rocking chair tonite, and I am rocking you in my arms and singing you this lullaby in my heart

"Over in Killarney,
Many years ago,
Me mither sang a song to me
In tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
In her good ould Irish way,
And I'd give the world if she could sing
That song to me this day.
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Hush, now don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
That's an Irish lullaby."

I love you, mystic, and I pray that God will calm your spirit and lift up your soul because you are a beautiful person, and you deserve to find peace and happiness.

I talked with Trucker Friday night, and she asked me to tell you all that she loves you and that she is praying for us all. She has ordered a computer, and hopes to have it in a couple weeks, or so. She is doing ok, and I'm sure she will have lots to say when she gets back on-line:~)

If you want to send her a message, I am planning to fax posts from our thread to her (it's a surprise - she doesn't know yet:~). I have a bunch ready to go now, and I will try to keep her updated regularly. She misses us something fierce!
