the courts of nz have decided that what academic freedom means, in nz, is the freedom of the university to shut people down.
it's the freedom of the university to refuse to enrol citizens for non-academic arbitrary reasons.
it's the freedom of the university to refuse to get work to external examiners so as to prevent and prohibit it being examined on it's merit.
it's the freedom of the university to censor anytihng produced by people claiing affiliation.
it's the fredom of the marketing team to write the content that the academics will sign their names to.
it's the freedom to simply not pay the payroll checkes. to invoice additiona fees.
it's alllll about the freedom of the univerity.
they are going to make it be about women and wormen's rights.
yawn.
never human rights. never rights of peresons.
c'mon men on your white horses sticking up for poor poor women with death threates for what the con-munications department okayed to come out of their mouths for the women on staff payroll.
kinds of freedom.
