Oh no, now I am really scared. I just graduated and am looking for a job in Ottawa. Those working in the public sector are doing really well, but I think those in the private sector are cutting back a lot. My dream is to work in the public sector because they get paid a lot compared to someone with the same skills working in the private sector.
Competition for public sector jobs are fierce, with thousands of applicants for one job. My career counselor and the guy running this workshop about getting into the public sector told me not to count on getting in.
Right now I am looking for a job, so far no return calls other than from the volunteer position.
I hope I find a job! I really need one!
