Accents sure are funny. I visited with my cousin who is from Minnesota and he thought that he sounded Canadian! Not!! It's funny, even when you travel across the border from Niagara Falls Ontario to Niagara Falls New York, the accent alone confirms that you're in a much different place.

I treasure my Canadian accent, softened by living so many years in the US and England. I even became nostalgic when I used to watch Peter Jennings do the news. *sigh* John Roberts (now CNN) has slipped the ties on that one. You'd never guess that he used to be a DJ on Canadian radio - J.D. Roberts - and then a VJ on television before his big break to the States.
