I've never been on a date or really had a boyfriend at all (I've made out with a TON of guys, but that's a totally different story). I was just so screwed up and down on myself for so long. I'm ready now, but at 36 I feel like a newbie, and its weird. I think that's why I'm attracted to younger men. I feel like I'm on a more even ground with them. Although, it makes sense that someone with more experience might make it easier too. I'm just ready to find out! I've got to get out and meet some men!
As for the original question, I never had anybody over, mostly out of embarassment. Having a guy over would have been unthinkable. I knew my family wasn't normal, plus my parents had a way of making it hard to ever feel any pride about anything we had. I can't really explain it very well. There was an undercurrent to be meek and a feeling that we were less than other people. I guess that's something to delve into in therapy.
