Hello there chic!
Well, I was in the car traveling across ten states in 5 days before we finally reached our Austin destination, so I'm afraid I wasn't there very long before I left again. (I was going so I could say goodbye to a friend moving back there)
I'll just have to go back sometime. :-)

Austin is quite the college town isn't it? I visited the University of Texas (that is one big school!). I have a brand new tie dyed "Keep Austin Weird" T-shirt. :-)
I liked it there a lot. I think it's a nice city to live in/near.
I ate at a place called "Sonic"- fast food drive up place that I don't have where I live. It was very good. It was pretty warm there considering it's February.
I like Texas a lot, but it's a different world than the one that I come from. It seems I am a "liberal". I sort of suspected it, but it has been confirmed ;-). I was in a pretty rural part of Texas first, then Austin. (and a bunch of states before that)
I like to travel I guess. People live so differently in different places. I knew that of course before, but it's good to get a sense of it first hand. There are so many places to visit!
but for now...I'm glad to be "home"
-best regards,
sleepytraveler
