Spriggy, Doesnt it hurt the most when "christians" hurt you? Hold your head up high. I refused to go to a church for the same reason you mentioned about that pastor. I really felt deep in my spirit that something was just not right. Later, I was proven to be correct.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. The whole world may let you down, but He never will. When I first became a christian, my family kept saying, "Yea, Look at Jimmy Swaggart." I said, "Yea, God already knows about Jimmy Swaggart. When I stand before him, I cannot use that as an excuse."
You have the gift of intercession and prophecy. You know that you hear from God.
Do you remember the garden of gethsemene? (misspelled) Jesus thought about the cross and the fact that the father would look upon Him as sin? Jesus was in such distress, (anxiety) that He sweet great drops of blood. Someone once told me that by his stripes I am healed and by what he did in the garden, he healed mental illness.
I always said, "If you spit in the air, it will land on your nose." The lady who is going around talking about you needs to be ware, the spit could land on her nose.
