No, but that doesn't stop him from doing it. I hate that he's family and as such I'm supposed to help him out. It's a low paying job I'd never wanted. I KNOW I can do better than fast food, why the heck did I go to university?

I never even agreed to help him. My Mom and my uncle and aunt all decided for me. I'm the only one who can really speak English and they need me badly

I just hate the little things...like only getting a 15 min break to eat. I told my uncle that I wanted to take a small break to go get some coffee from the Tim Horton's next to us in the mall, but then my uncle asked me why? Sigh...I don't even have the freedom to eat what I want to eat. I get free food at this place, but I'm getting sick and tired of it. I don't care if I have to spend $10 on food somewhere else...money isn't everything to me.

> Can you make the same or better money somewhere else? If so, GO! He's obviously not thinking of your best interest, the heck with him!

I come from a very hardworking family (they had to be). I'm not seen as an adult either. I'm not expected to become totally independent. Family is supposed to be everything.

No, the best I can do is to get Sun off. My parents and everyone else work 6 days a week. I don't even know if I'll be able to get out of working if I get sick, there is no one capable of working the cash and the computer there except me. I'm supposed to teach the owner and my aunt. I actually taught their 12 year old son as well. He caught on very quickly...it isn't rocket science. I think my uncle might make my 12 year old cousin work cash...he is very tall for his age (much taller than me), but he still looks like a boy. It is illegal for him to work, but so is working without a day off...

I don't want my cousin to work at all...he should be a kid. Kids shouldn't have to take responsibility for reading and understanding bills and letters, or negotiating business dealings etc. My uncle needs him though, because he can speak English. Poor kid...being the oldest sucks....always getting yelled at when he makes a mistake or doesn't understand something.

> You really need to tell your uncle that he's taking advantage of you.

I think I will just have to ride it out. I'm going to refuse working on Sun and see what happens...what is he going to do?...fire me?

Hmmm...I can actually get away with pretty much anything really...he can't fire me...but I won't...it's not fair to the other workers he hired...and I really do want his business to work.

Thanks Jazzy for the sympathy

It's nice to know what I'm feeling is normal.
