Hi folks
Not sure where you are- I wouldnt expect anyone outside the UK to celebrate this? Wouldnt make a lot of sense, as it was an attempt by a small group of Catholics to blow up the Houses of Parliament (Protestant dominated).
Guy Fawkes and his co-consipirators were discovered at the last minute, in a search of the cellars, and went thru the particularly grisly form of execution used for traitors all that time ago.
In Scotland, Halloween used to be celebrated, but the Guy Fawkes day celebrations have spread there (any excuse for a party!)
It is such a shame about animals (and nervous people). It has been a bit better in England this year as there is a ban on selling fireworks until a few days before 5th Nov (and other celebrations, such as Diwali).
