Tough call on the boyfriend front.
On one hand, if four other girlfriends have left him, that should tell you something about *him* and not you.
On the other hand, while people usually don't change, this might not be true in his case. Depending on where he is as far as giving up drugs, it may be that you are talking to the drugs, not him. Addiction is notorious for making folks selfish. If he does actually start recovery he *is* likely to change for the better.
