> My dr tends to have me go right off and try something right away at least that was the way with the lex he had me stop the paxil one night and start the lex the other morning it was weird but I have heard that paxil withdrawal is terrible but I was only on a very small amount for a couple of years at the end...
Going from one SSRI to another, like Paxil to Lexapro, isn't too bad. It isn't like stopping SSRIs altogether, so you wouldn't be as likely to get withdrawal symptoms. Wellbutrin, however, isn't in the SSRI class of drugs, which is why I was concerned about SSRI withdrawal.

Yes, my doctor referred me to a psychiatrist when I became suicidal from bad side effects from the drugs. I would think your condition is certainly severe enough to consider a psychiatrist. No matter how good your family doctor is, he can't compete with someone who deals with psychiatric problems 100% of the time. Something to consider...
I am so looking forward to brighter days for you, Heidi. May they come soon.
Your friend,
Simus
