I had no idea that benzos were frowned upon until I saw how many people here have a hard time getting them.
My mom-in-law was immediately given Ativan and Valium after her husband died, and she has unlimited refills. I was immediately given Xanax by my OB and then by two Pdocs. I'd NEVER asked for any--didn't even know what they were. And last time I had a bad bout, my Pdoc gave me Ativan--2 mg.! (The pharmacist did a double-take while filling it. I asked if that was a high dose, and he said it was!)
It's weird to hear these anti-benzo stories.
