Well, I have to sneak them off the insurance form because my current pdoc does not care for diagnosis.
My ex-pdoc had me OCD; major depression, moderate, recurring; and schizotypal personality disorder (he loved diagnosis).
My current pdoc usually puts down panic disorder on the insurance form, once put down cyclothymia, and I think he believes I have OCD.
I'm not sure about cyclothymia, because my episodes are definitely over three days and qualify as hypomania. However they are usually induced, either by medication or by changes in sleep pattern, and rarely if ever occur on their own. And that makes me think Bipolar II also would not be correct. Maybe we do need all those Bipolar III, IV, etc. after all. But I might be wrong about whether or not they occur on their own; all my life I've had "enthusiasms" and if I could remember them better they might be hypomanic in nature, or they might just be the positive side of OCD.
I think the DSM is woefully inadequate to diagnose our weird and wonderful brains.
