Posterchild I don't know! I saw your post unanswered and thought Owwww! that is not helping one bit.
I don't understand the Insurance system of paying for therapy. - I live in australia. Could you resolve the issue with your insurance company before you think about old T? I am guessing it is not T's fault that he did not get paid. (not saying it is your fault either)
Do you think therapy with old T didn't "work" because you were still in the getting to know you stage. that being able to be open and discuss stuff was just too hard for you but now you know the ropes it would be better??
