I applaud you for posting this it took quite alot of courage. I am sorry you feel ashamed, there are others who have experienced similar situations and the sad fact of it is is that we can move on from them until we relive them and experience them no matter how much we dread feeling this.
I was taught in therapy to feed your demons and in truth it helped.
I just needed to respond back to you for I feel it took alot and you deserve a pat on the back not to hang your head in shame.
