One for the dream interpreters

Posted by seldomseen on April 12, 2008, at 10:10:10

So I've been coping with some pretty heavy stuff lately in therapy, and the dreams (see above thread) have just been reflecting it. T says when things get stirred up, the dreams kick in - I think he is right.

Anyway, last night I dreamed that I was in my house and kept finding all of these new rooms that I have never been in before. I think the symbolism of this is obvious.

However, what has me stumped is that in my bedroom there was this huge player piano. It looked new. I wasn't afraid of it, but felt more like - how did that get here? What in the world? I tried to get it to work (it had a handle that you turn), but no music would come out.

It dominated the room - in fact it was in front of the bed.

Now, I understand that sometimes dreams are just dreams - residue of the day. Other times, I think they can be very valuable tools.

It could just be that there was a player piano in my bedroom, but because of the size and prominence of it in the bedroom I think it is a symbol of something else.

Any ideas?
