In reply to what habits/behaviours counter laziness and narc.., posted by iforgotmypassword on September 16, 2005, at 17:58:25

I have found that making a list of realistic and attainable goals helps to get me off the sofa. Thinking about all the things I "should" be doing just paralyses me into inaction. I don't think it's laziness as much as apathy, and it becomes a bigger problem - like everything else - when I am depressed.
So I try to chop tasks up into bite sized pieces; sometimes little morsels if necessary, and consider each little item crossed off my list a real victory. And a big pat on my own back for getting the smallest thing done.
